I am the photographer and cinematographer for Kumo

My job is to collect memories for my clients. I seek to produce images that almost transport you back to that beautiful moment, to remind you of how it felt to be there, even years later. Weddings are beautiful moments in our lives, and it is an absolute honor to be trusted in curating a collection of memories from such a momentous day. I seek to be as unobtrusive as possible, giving gentle guidance when necessary but ultimately taking a journalistic approach and documenting the moments as they happen.

I got into photography during high-school, admiring the work of famous photographers around the world that was suddenly available for view online. I went out to whatever interesting landscapes I could find, looking for those telltale signs of wonderful light on weather reports. Clouds and the way sunlight interacted with it was the inspiration behind my art, and it continues to drive my creative process today. (You can see some of my art photography here)

I began working in events and weddings just after college, shooting as an assistant to some incredible artists, learning everything I could from them about composition and theory in portraiture and candid photography. I learned how to blend in, and how to tell a story from images. My experiences in landscape photography still bring a huge influence into my work, as there are few weddings in Colorado that don’t have stunning landscape vistas.

Outside of my photography work, I freelance as a landscape designer and gardener with the occasional graphic design project. I am based in Denver, Colorado where I partake in all the hobbies common with the state (climbing on rocks, skiing in the winter, mountain biking and backpacking in the summer), most of the time bringing my camera with me.
